Financial Advisor Education Director Named at OIC

The Options Industry Council (OIC) announced Tuesday it had named Clay Ludlum as Director of Financial Advisor Education. OIC, a group funded by eight options exchanges, had previously launched a financial advisor education program through its OIC Advisor Portal, and the naming of Eric Cott to lead education efforts to advisors.

In April, the group sponsored a study showing that options investors were "savvier than their non-options trading counterparts." Cott, the director of OIC, said in an interview with Investment Advisor in May that his mission was to be the "minister, priest, and rabbi" of the options world. Cott is based in Ridgefield, Conn.; Ludlum will be based in Chicago. His new consulting role, according to the group, will see him working with Cott "to meet the growing demand for options education in the advisor arena."

Ludlum will participate in advisor-related conferences, as well as collaborating on options curricula and web content for the OIC Advisor website. He will also promote options education by working with firms, associations, academic institutions and the media.
